Home, where is home for me... Hmmm I had
asked myself that exact question for many years, and the
closest answer I had came out with, is that, home is not a
location I can identify in or around any map. For me home is
more closed linked to family and friends.
For me, perhaps, the whole U.S. is home, here many generations of
my family had struggle to keep up with changing times and
challenges.
I discover love for first time here, Hmmm... I remember how it was,
I felt in love with a flying flower who daily climbed
the white mountains to go home, and how I used to wait for
her to return to me, and she used to return as scheduled
next day, everyday. A very unique woman, smart, and wise in
her own way... one of a kind, very unique.
USA is such a great country! There are so much challenges, and so
much to talk about. USA is a very dynamic nation, always
undergoing constant change. Oh and what a history! From the
formation of the new world, the explorations of Hernando de
Soto in the Southeast and Francisco Vazquez in the Southwest
around 1540's marking the beginning of the colonial time,
and the foundation of Jamestown Virginia 1607. OH
Virginia!!! Virginia is for lovers! hehehe I have no doubt
about it, one of the most beautiful states...

American history... Hmmmm how
things used to be... |
|
Well... this is one of the most fascinating topics,
specially when we take a close look into our nation, the
founding fathers created a Republic based on the selection
of their representatives in the Government body, from those
of higher level of education, wisdom, skills and moral
character amongst them, so they could used all this skills
to do their very best in behalf of everyone. Our current
Government work closest than ever with the people of the
United States, like a great Democracy... but I will tell you
more about it in just a moment. First allow me to talk a
little about Virginia...
If that Virginia is one of my favorite States was your
guess, you were right on the money hehehe :) I love
Virginia.
Human history had always go through some change,
sometimes go slow, steady, while in some other, it had rush
into the next step on cultural evolution. Virginia was at
that moment, the epoch of the events counted since that
point on history, that were going to initiated the beginning
to what we know as the American civilization as we know it
today.
When Virginia was still under the British control; Her
Economy was greatly dependent on the plantations of tobacco
crops, followed by the trade of Tea... not much different
was for the new settlements like Plymouth or the Dutch...
Virginia had to adapt to quick, recognizing the changes and
acting upon it, the changes on the otherwise quiet domestic
environment, were to become more obvious after the Powhatan
Confederacy attacked the colonies, interfering and in some
cases even disable the trade, and plantation activities.
This conflict was endured forty years ending with a peace
treaty in 1646. While the British was still pretty busy
undergoing a civil war, which in a favorable way had already
made the minds of many that later flee to the new world. The
next 40 years the colonies will had their very own share of
revolts: Nathaniel Bacon with his rebellion against the
Indians (believe me for what I had read, Pocahontas was not
as happy as in the cartoon... not to mention had to endure
diseases that were brought over by the settlers)...Anyhow
jumping ahead... During the next hundred years the British
would give the colonies a more close look, and more interest
on them developed... leading years later, to the creation of
the Board of Trade and Plantations, which also became a new
way to show oppression, that not many years later became
more clear with the introduction of the Sugar and the Stamp
acts... basically overtaxing the colonies, and inadvertently
setting up the scenario that was going to push the colonies
into the Revolution.
Hmmm... and then it finally happened... that was the
year 1775, the first continental congress had been convened
a year prior, and a second continental congress was
convened, which was about to become the Government, highest
echelon of the country. Those were very violent times, war
was often by misguided attacks with high body count in
either sides, but the signs of victory ahead shinned like
the sun set of the new day. The British finally withdraw its
troops from Boston.
Then the Year was 1776, and Thomas Jefferson wrote and passed
to the congress, and the congress signed it. This was The
Declaration of Independence. (If you have not seen the movie
"National Treasure" with Nicolas Cage, I advise you to do
so, it is entertaining and give you a few insides into
history.) |

There
are not many statements that can hold so
much meaning in just a few sentences, and
undoubtedly, very few hold so much personal value to
me, as the introduction of the Constitution of The United
States.

We
the people of the United States, in Order to form a more
perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic
Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the
general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to
ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this
Constitution for the United States of America.

The
country underwent through a lot more fighting, the people
found themselves in a war often fought in their very own
backyard, the British were still on control of strongholds
and the southeast. Then an alliance was formed and France
joined Americans in the fight side by side, while the first
talks about negotiations started to emerge. Finally, the
Paris's Treaty was signed, and with it, recognizing
unconditional independence for America, as well as
establishing their territorial boundaries, that was the Year
1783.
Throughout the very next decade, most events went rather
smoothly, many treaties were discussed, summon of
conventions, and trade rules were established, very
important for the economy, of the newly formed states, as
the states... and then, in 17 September 1787 in
Philadelphia, The Constitutions of the United States was
signed, and a year later ratified... The Bill of Rights was
added in 1791. |

I invite
you to look into the past and get amazed, while we drive the
highways, the only highways the forefathers had, were the
rivers, the only vehicles were powered by horses... and yet,
they make things happened.

We had came a long way, but there is still a lot work to do
yet, think about it next time you have the time to
contemplate the landscaping... driving, or flying over...
specially if you get to take a look from 36000 ft, all quiet
under, thousand of people with the ability to add something
to the whole, a grain of sand in the future beach. The
future will be as great as we can build it.
A team, we all can work
together.

The changes we went and still going through since terrorism
show its face in our land, are huge, and the concern among
many is about the uncertainty of the future, the peace and
security we hold so dear. Let us not forget who we are!
Where we came from as a nation. There should be no doubt in
our mind and hearts, that the future is going to be awesome,
beyond the dreams of our founder fathers. |

We can and we will handle, whatever situation we must, and
do what need to be done... where ever we need to do so. |

There is much, much, more, work ahead, but everyone can add
their two cents and make things get better... it is our
choice to pick.
I ask from all to keep in mind, people is not perfect, there
are one or two bad apples out there, we had seen way too
much of misconceptions, scandals, and stories rushed to the
press, a hunt for ratings, nothing more. do not hesitate in
trusting on the integrity of our armed forces... or the
reasons of why we are in the front lines... it hurts to hear
it, specially from our leaders.
